Space for policies and initiatives

Our Central Diversity Office encourages initiatives in the area of diversity. Additionally, there are diversity and inclusion colleagues within Policy and Executive Staff who implement the widely supported Diversity Policy. Each faculty has specially appointed staff members who focus on creating space for initiatives that enhance and strengthen inclusion on our campus.

To foster this, we have a mentoring programme for talented employees, where you are paired with an experienced colleague to discuss dilemmas and choices, and reflect on your career.

Networks and social safety

There are several diversity networks you can join as a colleague, such as Jong UvA and UvA Pride. We also prioritise social safety, and offer various training sessions on this topic for employees. If something goes wrong, there are confidential advisors available per department, faculty, and professional theme, ensuring that there is always someone you can speak to in confidence.
