Your core tasks in this position are to teach and develop education in the field of international and transnational criminal law, to conduct research and to fulfil administrative tasks. We are particularly looking for someone with expertise in European criminal law and/or transnational criminal law.
As assistant professor, you will have a key role in the LLM master program in International and Transnational Criminal Law. You will be tasked with coordinating courses in our program as well as delivering lectures and seminars. Moreover, you will supervise LLM theses within the realm of international and transnational criminal law. In the future, you may also be asked to teach criminal law courses in Dutch. Beyond teaching responsibilities, you will fulfil administrative and organizational tasks in the section and, in the future, also the faculty. Furthermore, you'll conduct and publish high-quality research in the field of international and transnational criminal law, contributing valuable insights to the academic community. Looking ahead, you'll play a vital role in mentoring and supporting young researchers and PhD candidates, ensuring their growth and success in the field. For this position of assistant professor, we are looking for an international/transnational criminal lawyer with, preferably, several years of relevant experience and who fits the following profile:
We offer you a position as an assistant professor (UD-2) within the Criminal Law Section at the UvA. A varied and challenging job in an ambitious organisation. The candidate will be offered an assistant professor position for the duration of 18 months, with a view to permanent employment.
The salary amounts to a minimum of € 4,492 and a maximum of € 6,148 gross per month (salary scale 11,CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten) based on full-time employment (38 hours). The UvA also offers extensive secondary employment benefits, including 8% vacation pay and 8.3% year-end bonus. The CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten applies.
