All about this vacancy

What are you going to do

As lecturer of social psychology, you will be responsible for

  • Teaching and developing bachelor and master level courses and tutorial groups on social-psychological topics, including social influence and/or cultural psychology, as well as courses on research methods and academic skills;
  • supervising student research projects at bachelor and master level.

 

What do you have to offer

The successful candidate will have proven ability and motivation to teach in the Social Psychology BSc specialization, the Social Influence track and/or the Cultural Psychology track of our master's program as well as in the interdisciplinary bachelor program Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE).

 

You have:

  • a PhD in social psychology or related discipline;
  • A Master’s degree in social psychology;
  • A bachelors degree in Psychology
  • experience in teaching, developing, and improving courses and supervising theses on social-psychological topics at the bachelor and master level (with good evaluations);
  • a Universal Teaching Qualification (UTQ) or a willingness to obtain one;
  • excellent English proficiency;
  • preferably excellent Dutch proficiency.

The position concerns employment of 30,4-38 hours a week, the initial employment is for one year. If you prove to be a good fit and financial and organizational circumstances remain unchanged, the contract will be converted into a permanent employment agreement. Depending on your experience, the minimum salary €4728,- is and the maximum salary is €6433,- gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 11, as per the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities.

 

We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.

The UvA offers excellent possibilities for further professional development and education.
You are entitled to holiday hours, you must take them during the lecture-free periods. You cannot take a holiday during lesson/review periods.
