The PPLE Admissions Support Officer plays a vital role in assisting in the administrative processing of PPLE Admissions, focusing on application, admission, intake (and rejection) procedures. You will be working with a team of two in the admissions office and joining a small international support staff team.

What you will do

In the role of Admissions Support Officer, you will do the following:

  • assist with the administration of the full application process including admission, intake and rejection procedures.
  • advise prospective students on the admissions procedure and PPLE College’s academic offering via email correspondence, phone hours and in-person informational events.
  • assist with the organisation and execution of informational events such as campus tours, information sessions, student-for-a-day events, bachelor days and orientation days.
  • maintain contact with relevant central services of the UvA, such as Central Student Administration and Student Services.

What we expect from you

The successful PPLE Admissions Support Officer is a proactive and flexible team player who is comfortable working through peak periods of the admissions cycle to meet deadlines.

In addition, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Relevant work experience at a university (or other relevant institution) and/or working with students;
  • Accurate and meticulous work attitude;
  • Excellent written and spoken command of English (native or near-native);
  • Excellent organisational and communications skills;
  • Experience with working in an international (English) working environment;
  • Affinity with, and interest in excellence/honours education programmes.

Preferred experience/skills:

  • Experience in customer/student-facing roles is a plus;
  • Good proficiency in written and spoken Dutch is a plus;
  • Knowledge of foreign educational systems and diploma levels (credential evaluation) is a plus;
  • Experience with SIS/ESM – Service Now/Excel is considered a plus.

What we offer you

We offer an employment contract for one year with a two-month probationary period, starting on 1 November 2026, preferably sooner. If you prove to be a good match for the job and team, then a permanent employment contract is possible. The employment contract is for 22.8-30.4 hours a week (0.6/0.8 FTE). In principle the contract is for 0.6 FTE. Depending on team composition, experience and possible additional work tasks it may be an option to add 0.2 FTE to the contract.

Your salary, depending on your relevant experience on commencement of the employment contract, ranges between 3.202 to €4.159 gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 hours. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8.3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.

PPLE College offers students an academic programme focused on the challenges science and society face at the intersections of its four disciplines. PPLE students learn to analyse complex societal and organisational challenges through the integration of theories and methods from Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics. PPLE College is based on the following four principles: 

(1) an interdisciplinary environment, 

(2) small-scale institute and intensive English language curriculum,

(3) a research-based learning programme and

(4) an inspiring international learning community.

PPLE is a selective honours programme. Prospective students are selected to have a strong academic background, to be highly motivated and are from both the Netherlands and abroad. The programme features an intensive tutoring system, inspiring educators and dedicated staff.
