What you will do

Your main responsibilities include communicating with students and teaching staff, as well as assisting with the administrative side of course and examination preparation. You’ll manage requests that come in via email, ServiceNow, phone, or in person. The front desk is open every day, and you’ll be working three days a week, alongside the other education desk assistant. Additional tasks will involve assisting in updating Canvas pages, booking rooms, monitoring PPLE mail, and ordering books for staff.

What we expect from you

The successful PPLE Education Desk Assistant is enrolled as a student (for the academic years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026) and has both excellent administrative and communication skills.
In addition, you have/are:

  • A pro-active, problem-solving and creative attitude;
  • Quick on your feet and you can easily swap between tasks;
  • Excellent English language and communication skills (native or near-native speaker);
  • Experience in an administrative/support role; and therefore comfortable with handling a variety of information and tasks and channelling this to the right people.
  • Strong Excel and Canvas skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work in a precise manner;
  • Able to work both independently and in a team in a dynamic educational environment;
  • Able to resolve issues in a diplomatic and confidential manner.

Preferred experience/skills:

  • Experience with SIS and a ticket system (e.g. Topdesk/ServiceNow) is considered a pré;
  • Dutch language and communication skills.

Due to the nature of the work PPLE students cannot apply for this position.

What we offer you

We offer a temporary employment contract until 31 August 2026 with a probationary period of one month, preferably starting 1 May 2025. If you prove to be a good match for the job and are still studying, then an extension is possible. The employment contract is for maximum 16 hours a week. Your salary, depending on your relevant experience on commencement of the employment contract, ranges between €2.925 to €2.981 gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 hours. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8.3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.
