The Summer Programmes Office is looking for Programme Coordinator to join our team in March. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the world of study abroad and to immerse yourself in a thoroughly international academic environment. Last year, we welcomed participants of 70+ different nationalities into our interdisciplinary programmes. Our office is looking after everything from marketing and student recruitment to the application and enrollment processes, curriculum development, programme management, and student care during the summer, ensuring all of our programmes run smoothy.

Working at the Summer Programmes Office can be a fast-paced and incredibly rewarding experience. In summer 2026, we expect to host over 600 students in 30 programmes in a wide range of subjects within the social and behavioural sciences. Participants will be studying at a variety of levels, from high-school students (16+) to current university students (Bachelor/Master/PhD) and working professionals

What are you going to do

 

As a Programme Coordinator, you will:

  • coordinate summer programmes in collaboration with the Academic Directors (teachers) and potentially develop new ones. Among other programmes, you will be the main coordinator for our Pre-University Honours Programmes (for high school students, 16-19 years old).
  • organise programme excursions, bookings, and other events.
  • be responsible for clear and timely syllabi, programme schedules and digital learning environments (Canvas) for the programmes under your care.
  • be responsible for the day-to-day running of your programmes during the summer and accompanying groups of students on excursions.
  • process applications and remain in contact with the applicants. 
  • take care of programme and education administration: payments, confirmations, registrations, grades, transcripts, etc.
  • provide texts and information for the website and social media.
  • reply to emails from students, act as a mentor for students and an ambassador of the University of Amsterdam community.

What do you have to offer

We are looking for candidates who: 

  • have experience in organising higher education, or have gained other relevant project management experience.
  • have an interest in our Pre-University Honours Programmes.
  • are interested in study-abroad and innovative education in general.
  • enjoy working with students and participants of all ages and nationalities.
  • are capable of working independently as well as a member of a team (you must be a team-player as well as a self-starter).
  • detail oriented, highly organized, and efficient in administrative tasks.
  • are level-headed, positive, flexible, and able to improvise.
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • have professional working proficiency in Dutch (C1 or higher).
  • are proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
     

It is a plus if you also have:

  • previous experience with working with students aged 16-19.

 

What else do we offer you

Programme Coordinator is a position for 32 hours per week, for 7 months, from March 1 until September 31 2026, with the possibility - depending on developments within the Summer Programmes Office - for an extension and/or a permanent contract in the future. However, urgent financial and/or organisational reasons may be reason not to continue the employment contract.

 

The minimum salary is € 3.382 to € 4.484  gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 8, as per the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities. UFO-profile Medewerker Studentenzaken 2 is applicable.

We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.

In case of equal suitability, the internal candidate is preferred over the external candidate.
