All about this vacancy

What are you going to do?

In this job you will actively support and participate in various diversity related projects, together with the FDO. You will have a role in the actual, primary process regarding initiating and developing projects, but also in the secondary, supporting process, whereby you organize and facilitate meetings, manage communication and keep track of everything that’s going on. 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • (co-)organize events, e.g., annual diversity day/week ‘Faces of Science Park’, workshops, etc
  • Networking and connecting people and groups
  • (help) Writing and giving feedback on documents (e.g., memos)
  • Communication / social media content
  • Supporting the FDO
    • Setting up meetings, agenda, taking minutes during meetings
    • Initiate, chair and or participate in meetings: at different levels and between different groups/people both within and outside the faculty
  • Be a point of contact
    • People can contact you to ask more info on DEI related issues, in general or at the faculty; you can brainstorm with them, or give them advice
    • Important to listen to the needs of staff and students at the faculty, decide together with the FDO (and sometimes the Sounding Board or other persons/groups) what steps are to be taken
  • Give solicited and unsolicited advice to different groups/people

Your experience and profile

  • Student at the Faculty of Science
  • Affinity with diversity, inclusion, equity
  • Independent/takes initiative/pro-active
  • Approachable (act as a point of contact)
  • Organizational skills
  • Good communication skills and proficiency of the English language
  • Social skills

Our offer

We offer a temporary employment contract for 16 hours per week for a period of 12 months. The preferred starting date is 1 July 2024. 

The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on study year, ranges between € 3,084 tot € 3,141 (scale SA). This does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement of Universities of the Netherlands is applicable.

Besides the salary and a vibrant and challenging environment at Science Park we offer you multiple fringe benefits:

  • 232 holiday hours per year (based on fulltime) and extra holidays between Christmas and 1 January;
  • multiple courses to follow from our Teaching and Learning Centre;
  • multiple courses on topics such as time management, handling stress and an online learning platform with 100+ different courses;
  • the possibility to follow courses to learn Dutch;
