We are inviting applications for the position of Junior Researcher in the N-EXTLAW project at the University of Amsterdam. N-EXTLAW is an ERC funded research project which explores how law, and private law in particular, can help mainstream non-extractive economic practices.
The junior researcher’s main research focus will be on developing the Norwegian case study, focused on collaborative housing. The junior researcher will produce research output within the ambit of the project on collaborative housing and broader within N-EXTLAW. The junior researcher will also provide administrative support to the team, including organising meetings, language editing, text editing, producing our podcast series, supporting with reporting obligations, communicating with partners and collaborators, and similar.

You have a master’s degree in law;
You are interested in conducting research on a topic related to the broader theme of the project;
You have experience in the organising of academic events, outreach and communication of research results to relevant communities of practitioners and policy makers and are willing to contribute to these activities related to the project;
You have outstanding command of English;
You are well organised, have great communication skills and work well in a team;
You have experience, and find rewarding, both research and administrative tasks.
We offer an employment contract for the duration of the N-EXTLAW project: from the agreed start until the end of the project, on the 31st July 2026. The probation period will be 2 months. The employment contract is for 38 hours a week.
Your salary, depending on your relevant experience on commencement of the employment contract, ranges between €3378 - €5331 gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 hours. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8.3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.

Not only do members of ACT have diverse and dynamic interests, but ACT has a close working relationship with other research centres at the UvA: Amsterdam Center for Law and Economics, Amsterdam Centre for International Law, Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance, and Sustainably Global Economic Law.
