We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated scientist to enhance our research and educational initiatives. In the role of Assistant Professor in the Biosystems Data Analysis group (BDA), you will have the chance to establish your own research agenda and contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
BDA focuses on the development and application of methodology for the analysis of biological data, in particular at the omics level. We blend a wide range of expertise, including bioinformatics, data processing and mining, machine learning/deep learning, data fusion, and modelling. As an assistant professor you will work on computational methodology for single-cell and spatial omics data analysis, related to open questions on pattern finding, data integration, modelling and/or analysis of signalling and communication. Your expertise will complement existing expertise in BDA and will allow strong collaborations with various experimental research groups within SILS. This ranges from groups working on developmental biology to plant biology to neuroscience. In addition, various opportunities exist for collaboration at the University of Amsterdam outside SILS, e.g. with the Informatics Institute.
