This is what you will be doing

Working as an Assistant Professor in the E&I section at ABS involves developing your own research agenda that aligns with the section’s focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, while allowing ample scope for intellectual independence and scholarly growth, publishing in top journals, teaching courses, and supervising bachelor’s and/or master’s theses. Specifically, 50% of the time will be for research, while the teaching load will maximally take up the other 50% of time. Research is expected to target top international journals, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation. The teaching load is reasonable (two to three courses) and can be concentrated both in terms of time and preparation. Teaching will be at the graduate (MSc), the undergraduate (BSc) level or in the executive program.

The working language, including teaching, is English or Dutch. The intended starting date will be 1 September 2026.
The Tenure-track Assistant Professor will be offered a six-year tenure track position as Assistant professor. Upon meeting the criteria for tenure, we will offer a permanent contract as Associate Professor. The gross monthly salary during the first three years will be, depending on experience, between €4,728 and €6,433 (salary scale 11) based on 38 hours per week (+16.3% holiday and end-year payments). After a positive evaluation the maximum salary becomes €7,297 (salary scale 12). This is based on 38 hours per week and in accordance with the salary scales. A temporary reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may apply to non-Dutch candidates. The Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) for Dutch Universities is applicable.

Faculty regularly publish in top management, entrepreneurship, innovation, and psychology journals every year. Our education portfolio is based on two interrelated management challenges: creating and growing new ventures and realizing and capturing innovations. In our teaching we promote a challenge-based, experiential learning environment to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and innovative leaders for the future. The section is very collegial and diverse, its scholars come from 14 different nationalities, with a wide range of backgrounds.
