Amsterdam University College (AUC) is a joint institute of the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit, offering a Bachelor (Honours) programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. AUC is looking for a lecturer in the Academic Core. The Academic Core of the AUC programme is designed to ensure that students develop strong academic skills in a number of essential areas. They will take Academic Core courses across all three years of their programme, ensuring an ongoing development of their skills.

You will teach 1 parallel group of the course Advanced Research Methods and Statistics. The course is principally chosen by Sciences and Social Sciences majors in their second and third year, who have an interest in our health, cognition, and biomedical tracks. The course introduces the students to the methods theoretically, and applying them using SPSS, often using social science survey data. It builds on introductory research methods and statistics courses and teaches students to analyse and interpret science and social science data by using advanced techniques, including, for example, MANOVA, principle component analysis, model selection and diagnostics in multiple linear regression, and logistic regression. This is an existing course with existing course materials. Each course group will have a maximum of 25 students. Classes have been scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays between 9 February and 29 May 2026.

We offer a temporary employment contract with Jobservice for 12.2 hours per week for a period of 4 months. This position is created to temporarily replace a colleague on sick leave. The preferred starting date is 01 February 2026.
The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between €4.728 to € 6.433 (scale 11). This does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The UFO profile Docent 3/Lecturer 3 is applicable. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
