The capacity group Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage is looking for a lecturer (temporary replacement) within the Department of Art and Culture Studies to teach in the Master (MSc) and Advanced Professional Programme (APP) of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, specifically in the track Paintings Conservation. You will be teaching Paintings Conservation in the Master’s (MSc) and Advanced Professional Programme (APP) in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, with emphasis on the APP programme. Under the guidance of the current lecturers in Paintings Conservation you will support students in the development of their academic and practical knowledge and skills through lectures and workshops, and as a supervising lecturer in conservation practicals and APP internship placements You will also teach an introduction to paintings conservation in the BA minor programme.
Tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic temporary replacement lecturer in paintings conservation, someone who enjoys helping the development of students on their way to entering the conservation profession, someone who likes to take on responsibility for the quality of our education programme in close collaboration with the rest of the team.
Your experience and profile
We offer a temporary employment contract for a period of 12 months with a probationary period of two months. The employment contract is for 11,4 hours a week. The preferred starting date is 01 September 2025.
Your salary, depending on relevant experience on commencement of the employment contract, ranges between € 3,378 to € 5,331 gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 hours. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8,3% year-end allowance. Favourable tax agreements may apply to applicants moving from abroad. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
