Post-doc Fairness of Climate Solutions

Post-doc Fairness of Climate Solutions

Working at the UvA

Join our team!

You will be part of SEVEN, established in 2024 as an interdisciplinary climate institute of the UvA, involving all seven UvA faculties. Fairness of Climate Solutions is one of SEVEN’s four core projects. In this transdisciplinary project, SEVEN aims to develop a better understanding of fairness in climate solutions that can assist all actors in creating just and effective responses to climate change. The project  brings together insights from law, social sciences, humanities (including the history of ideas and ethics), economics, medicine, and the expertise of climatologists, hydrologists, and other relevant specialists, as well as insights from practice. The aim is to develop a framework to identify factors and mechanisms that hinder or facilitate fairness, and to apply that to specific issues, with a view to identify and map current injustices in climate governance at the global, regional, and national levels; and evaluate and develop specific climate solutions that correct rather than perpetuate those injustices.
