For the SSHOC-NL project’s Education Team based at the Amsterdam Institute for Humanities Research, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and independent Research Assistant Educational Resources and Training for Arts and Humanities Infrastructure. SSHOC-NL develops the CLARIAH research infrastructure which offers students and researchers the opportunity to access, use and research historical datasets, digitized (audiovisual) collections and dedicated tools in their research and teaching. Based on the datasets, collections and tools available in CLARIAH, the Education Team develops tutorials and support for research and teaching at Dutch universities at all levels, in close dialogue with researchers, lecturers and students. In addition, the team organizes events and webinars focusing on access and reuse of digital (audiovisual) collections as well as digital tools - in particular (new) media studies, film and television studies, oral history, history and the social sciences.

For this position we are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in digital (audiovisual) collections, digital archives, heritage and digital tools and their use in teaching and research broadly. Because of the strong emphasis on audiovisual collections in the context of CLARIAH, the ideal candidate also has a specific area of interest (historical, theoretical, or both) in television, film, radio or media studies, and demonstrable experience with developing educational resources for digital audiovisual collections. You thrive on working in an interdisciplinary team and like to think along with scholars working in fields other than your own; you are curious about how digital tools and collections can be deployed in different ways and see value in including multiple perspectives and different research agendas in CLARIAH.
We offer a temporary employment contract as Onderwijs-/Onderzoeksmedewerker 1 for a period of 12 months. Preferred starting date is 1 August 2025. The employment contract is for 15,2 hours a week.
The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and relevant experience, ranges between €3.378 to €5.331. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8,3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
