Assistant Professor appointments are 6-year tenure-track positions, with a tenure decision based on proven excellence in research and teaching. The ASE offers competitive European salaries. The gross monthly salary during the first three years as Assistant Professor will typically be, depending on experience and potential, between €5,278 and €6,148 (salary scale 11) + 16.3% holiday and end-year payments. This is based on 38 hours per week and in accordance with the salary scales and the collective labor agreement regulating employment conditions at Dutch universities. Researchers from outside the Netherlands can apply for a temporary tax reduction. The University of Amsterdam (UvA) offers a very attractive pension scheme. The teaching load is moderate. We also offer assistance in finding accommodation and career support for partners. More information about working at the UvA can be found here.
