As our Community Manager you will be working for the Amsterdam Data Science Centre (DSC) to help us bring the UvA data science strategy to a local level: data science communities driven by researchers.
The mission of the DSC is to enhance the university’s research by developing, sharing and applying data science methods and technologies. The DSC is part of the UvA Library and led by the scientific director. As the main coordinating hub for data science the DSC facilitates funding, knowledge exchange as well as the training of skills related to digital and data-driven research and drives innovation, diffusion and cross-pollination of data science across the university.

Together with the DSC scientific director, the board and library teams you initiate collaboration and knowledge exchange, support data science-related events and activities and help develop our training programs. In short, you make sure researchers take advantage of the opportunities we offer and enthusiastically support the DSC.

We offer a temporary contract for 32 to 38 hours a week for the duration of a year. Upon proven suitability and unchanged financial and organizational circumstances, the contract will be converted into a permanent employment.
Salary depends on past education and relevant work experience. For this position the University Job Classification profile Projectleider 2 applies, with a minimum salary of €3,708 and a maximum salary of €5,057 gross per month based on full-time employment for a 38-hour working week, in keeping with salary scale 9, as per the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities. In addition, you will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.
