We are looking for a collegial and inspiring academic leader with a passion for interdisciplinary education. The new dean will strengthen PPLE’s connections with research schools, further develop its alumni network and scholarship programme, and expand collaborations with similar national and international initiatives. A strong research or social profile relevant to PPLE will be an asset in these efforts.

The dean is the college’s educational and academic leader committed to interdisciplinary teaching and research. Bearing responsibility for the college overall and its day-to-day management, the dean oversees programme development, student recruitment, management and development of academic and support staff, quality assurance, college facilities and budget. The dean stimulates participation and collaboration with relevant research groups, fellow educational directors and staff of the faculties involved and with the University of Amsterdam as a whole. She or he maintains and extends PPLE’s network of international partners and further develops the alumni and scholarship programme. In these tasks, the dean is supported by the other two members of the management team: a programme director and a managing director. The dean also plays a role in the law faculty's governance where relevant to the college.
We are seeking an experienced academic — Associate or Full Professor — in one or more disciplines relevant to PPLE, with a demonstrated passion for (interdisciplinary) education.
