You will provide education in the Master's in Human Geography, International Development Studies and the Bachelor's in Social Geography and Planning, together with other lecturers, but also independently. In particular, you will be involved in:
• Developing and conducting tutorials;
• Developing and conducting lectures;
• Coordinating courses;
• Developing, providing and correcting assessments;
• Providing feedback to students and assessing assignments;
• Supervising and assessing theses at the Bachelor's and/or Master's levels.
For this position, we are looking for someone with:
• a PhD in Social Geography, Planning, International Development Studies, or a related field;
• the capacity to supervise theses at bachelor and master level with a preference for themes related to climate change and urban dynamics, but other themes are also welcome;
• experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) as a research method is a plus;
• capacities to be deployed in various thematic, methodological and skills courses in the Bachelor Social Geography and Planning, Master Human Geography, Master Urban and Regional Planning, and Master International Development Studies;
• the capacity to supervise theses at bachelor and master level with a preference for themes related to climate, urban transformations and conflict, but other themes are also welcome;
• experience with education and who is comfortable in front of the class;
• a good oral and written command of the English language;
• a good oral and written command of the Dutch language (minimum B2 with strong preference given to candidates with C1);
· the desire to actively contribute to the high quality of bachelor and master education;
• a work attitude focused on teamwork, flexibility and communication.
