The Psychological Methods group is one of the largest and most successful research and education centres in the field of psychological methods. Its main areas of research are network analysis, complexity science, Bayesian statistics, mathematical psychology, and psychometrics. In addition, the group has a general focus on supporting open science and has made important methodological contributions to facilitate transparent research practices in the past decade. Our educational program consists of bachelor courses in methodology, statistics, and philosophy of science, a premaster and a master in Behavioural Data Science, and a series of courses in the Research Master of the Psychology department. This is a temporary position for four years, with a two-month probationary period, for 0.8 FTE (30,4 hours per week). This is the average number of hours you work per week; there are periods when more hours are required due to grading, among other things. You can compensate these hours later, when the teaching is less intensive.
During the first year of your appointment, 20% of your teaching hours are reserved for training and development. In the years after this will be 10% of your teaching hours.
We refer to this combination of work and professional development as the Lecturer Development Program (DOP). During your four-year contract, you will follow training sessions together with other teachers and obtain the University Teaching Qualification (BKO). The goal of the DOP is to optimize your position in the labor market (employability and opportunities) after the temporary employment.
The gross monthly salary ranges from €3,378 to a maximum of €5,331 gross per month (based on a 38-hour workweek, Dutch Universities scale 10) of the CLA Dutch Universities. The start date is August 18th, 2025.
