The position is part of the NWO Vidi grant exploring groups and attention. The position is based at the Amsterdam School of Economics under the supervision of Dr. Jan Hausfeld.
Tasks and responsibilities:
The postdoctoral researcher will aim to generate research that can be published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals (with a focus on Economics journals).
Research (80%):
Design studies and experiments/interventions (e.g., lab or online experiments, eye-tracking);
programming the experimental task (e.g. oTree, zTree, Matlab,…);
collect and analyse behavioral and attention data (R, STATA, Python);
write the results up for publication in peer-reviewed journals (with a focus on Economics journals);
present the work at academic conferences.
Teaching (20%):
Bachelor and/or tutorials
Supervision of MSc thesis projects
PhD in (Behavioural) Economics, Neuroeconomics, Computational Psychology, Computer Science or related field;
advanced statistical and computational skills (e.g., R, Stata, Python);
experience with designing and running experiments (e.g., OTree, Z-tree, Matlab,…);
openness to interdisciplinary research and approaches;
excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written;
good teamwork skills;
explicit interest and motivation to conduct scientific research.

This means a gross monthly salary between €3,378.00 and €5,331.00 for full-time employment (38 hours per week), excluding holiday allowance (8%) and year-end bonus (8.3%).
